At the annual motor show in Beijing, a new redesign of the Chery Tiggo 2 2022 small crossover was unveiled as a debutant.

Exterior
The appearance of the 2022 Chery Tiggo 2 compact crossover clearly demonstrates a harmonious combination of branded layout classics with elements of an expressive futuristic style. The new version also showcases the latest design and technology solutions of recent years. The most presentable and stylishly modernized crossover looks impeccable in full-face photos and videos. Insights include:
- Embossed side panels and rounded contours of a short bumper;
- Decorative chrome of the lower edge and the winged brand logo of the hexagonally structured radiator grille;
- Ribbed contour of the lower air duct.
In the configuration of the front section, the silver cladding and round DRL ceiling lights of the side air diffusers are advantageous. The layout is rounded off with a diagonal body kit that combines protective and decorative functions.
Design
In the design of the side walls, details of the sporty Art Nouveau style predominate. The new body in profile projection demonstrates the contrast ratio of the silver roof rails and black glossy window frames, modern mirrors, and longitudinally stepped profiles of the dynamic body relief.
The off-road potential of the Chery Tiggo 2 2022 is indicated by high ground clearance, short overhangs, the presence of a protective plastic cladding at the lower perimeter of the body, and high wheel arches. The side wall ensemble organically complements the floral pattern of the 17-inch wheels.
Typical of entry-level crossovers, the compact's rear design includes:
- Spoiler visor supplemented with plastic supports;
- Compact format of the sloping glazing;
- Teardrop ceiling lights connected by a decorative bridge;
Cross reliefs of the tailgate.
The lower segment of the rear appears sportier and more dynamic. In stock is a narrow protruding bumper profile, complete with fog lights and a massive body kit with a protective silver plate. According to reviews, the exterior of the crossover was positively rated by drivers of different age segments.
Interior
A five-seater interior with a high-quality fabric or leather
interior stands out with an ergonomic arrangement of seats, advanced
functionality of equipment and onboard electronics.
The front panel offers an intriguing design option for a digital instrument cluster, with the possibility to activate accessory options through the touch media command display of the central block console. In its standard composition, a pair of deflectors and a floor console with washers for adjusting the on-board air conditioning are included. The budget status of the crossover is indirectly reflected by the minimal configuration of the tunnel with a compact gear lever, limited functionality of the organizers, and the nominal volume of the small luggage compartment located under the armrest.
The front seats, featuring lateral support elements and standard adjustment ranges, are well-profiled and fairly comfortable. A three-seater sofa in the second row provides seating for three people, but a high tunnel may cause significant discomfort for the driver on the center seat.
The sofa's design offers a compensatory feature, including a folding armrest and an adjustable backrest. Unfortunately, the 420-liter boot capacity cannot be fully utilized due to the wheel arches protruding into the interior volume. However, this drawback is offset by a tripling of the cargo space resulting from the redesign of the rear seats.
In terms of technical specifications, the external dimensions of the chassis are in line with typical layout standards, measuring 4200 x 1760 x 1570 mm. Class-appropriate driving characteristics are achieved through a wheelbase of 2555 mm and a ground clearance of 186 mm. The crossover's construction features a front-wheel-drive platform with McPherson and torsion spring axles, basic lateral stabilization devices, and safety systems. The novelty is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 106 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission.
During our test drive, we confirmed a top speed of 170 km/h and a high-octane fuel consumption rate of 6 liters per one hundred kilometers. Unfortunately, information about speed acceleration dynamics is not available from any of the sources.
